Galleries

Gavin Rain, born in Cape Town in 1971, is believed to be one of the greatest contemporary representatives of neo-pointillism or pixelism. Working primarily in acrylic, Rain creates meticulously layered compositions that merge precision with perception, inviting viewers to experience the tension between abstraction and representation. His distinctive visual language has garnered international recognition, with his paintings exhibited in leading galleries and art fairs across the globe.

Using acrylic like a TV or PC screen, Rain creates his images using simulated pixels. Hence the technique called “hidden in plain sight”.
